What Puzzitron is — and isn’t
- Puzzitron is a private practice game for children aged 7–11. It uses the same style of reasoning question (verbal, quantitative, non-verbal, spatial, plus 11+ verbal extensions) that show up in school cognitive ability tests.
- Puzzitron is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed from any exam board or test provider — including but not limited to GL Assessment, CEM (formerly the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring at Durham University), Cambridge Assessment, Pearson, the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER), Atom Learning, Bond, or any school admissions consortium.
- The CAT4 trademark and any 11+ test-format trademarks belong to their respective owners. References here are descriptive (“CAT4-style”, “11+-style”) only.
- Performance on Puzzitron is not a predictor of performance on the real CAT4, 11+ exam, or any other school admissions assessment. Calibration is approximate and intended to feel similar — not to score-equivalent.
- No score, rating, or progress signal in Puzzitron should be used to make decisions about a child’s education, school placement, ability streaming, or tutoring. If you need an assessment of a child’s cognitive ability or exam readiness, consult a qualified educational psychologist or your school.
- Puzzitron provides no guarantee about any outcome — academic, behavioural, or motivational. We can’t and don’t promise that using the app will improve a child’s reasoning skills, school marks, or test results.
- We accept no liability for any decision made on the basis of Puzzitron output, to the maximum extent permitted by UK law.
Who runs Puzzitron
Puzzitron is operated by an individual UK-based operator trading as Puzzitron. For any question about these terms, email hello@puzzitron.com.
Who can use it
Puzzitron is intended for children aged 7–11, set up and supervised by a parent / legal guardian / authorised teacher. The adult creates the account; the child joins via an invite link the adult sends them.
By creating an adult account you confirm you are 18 or older AND that you have the right to set up the child account on the child’s behalf.
Beta status
Puzzitron is in open beta. The free tier is currently the only tier. We may change the scope, features, pricing, sub-tests covered, or availability at any time. We’ll give reasonable notice (account email) before any change that affects your existing data or that introduces a charge.
The free tier is not crippled and will stay free even after a paid tier launches.
Acceptable use
By using Puzzitron, you and the child agree:
- Not to share account or invite credentials with anyone who isn’t the intended user.
- Not to use the service to harass, defame, or harm anyone.
- Not to attempt to scrape, copy, redistribute, or resell the question bank, app code, or any other content. The bank is the result of a lot of human + LLM editorial work; if you want to use it commercially, email us first.
- Not to attempt to bypass authentication, the child / adult separation, or the admin role gate.
We may suspend or close any account that breaches these rules. We’ll email you first if we possibly can.
Your data, your control
What we collect, why, and how to delete it is covered in full in the privacy policy. Short version: minimum data, no third-party trackers, EU-hosted, ask us to delete anything any time.
You can soft-delete a child (with a 30-day restore window) or hard-delete your whole adult account at any time from the dashboard.
Intellectual property
The Puzzitron app, brand, and question bank are the property of the operator. We grant the adult account a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them for the purpose of practising at home with their own children.
Trademarks belonging to third parties (CAT4, 11+ test formats, etc.) are the property of their respective owners and used here in a descriptive, non-affiliated sense only.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law: Puzzitron is provided “as is”. We make no warranties, express or implied, about its fitness for any particular purpose — including any educational, assessment, or admissions purpose.
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from decisions made on the basis of the app’s output. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for anything we cannot lawfully exclude (death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, etc.).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes will be heard in the courts of England & Wales unless local consumer-protection law gives you a different right that you choose to exercise.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in any material way, we’ll email account holders, bump the “last updated” date at the top, and add a short summary of what changed. Continued use after that update constitutes acceptance.
